As any of the students in his English class at Campbell Hall High School will attest, Los Angeles is lucky to have stolen Lynn “Robe” Roberson away from Seattle—and the young athletes of LAVA Girls are the biggest, luckiest beneficiaries.
Robe’s volleyball coaching resume is extensive: stints as Head Varsity Girls Coach at Eisenhower High School and University Prep School; time spent as an Assistant Coach at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, not to mention collegiate camps in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho; and multiple seasons coaching club volleyball in and around the Seattle and northwest areas. Robe was a popular and successful figure in the Puget Sound Region. He was the founder of Team Tenacity Volleyball Club, not to mention logged several stellar seasons first with Team Yakima Volleyball Club and then Island Thunder Volleyball Club, where he coached 16’s for three years and guided his 16-1 squad to JO’s Open Division competition in 2008.
A veteran of the LAVA South coaching staff, where he has for several seasons now held court for the younger divisions with his characteristic mixture of passion and aplomb, the charismatic Robe returns once more to LAVA South for this upcoming season, bringing all his talents and personality to bear.
