The Los Angeles Volleyball Academy (LAVA) is a premier youth and junior volleyball organization based in Southern California. The program is the combined effort of multiple distinct locations working in tandem with one another and boasts collectively more than 70 teams and 750 competitive athletes. The Club Director of the LAVA collective is Nabil Mardini with Assistant Director Trevor Julian, both founding members of LAVA as a whole.
LAVA NORTH (SANTA CLARITA, CA) — LAVA North houses an impressive collection of Santa Clarita coaching and athletic talent and strives to train its athletes to become the best volleyball players they can be. More importantly, LAVA North vigorously upholds the Core Values of LAVA Girls — integrity, competitiveness, passion — and works hard to keep honesty and player interests as vital elements of the organization, despite competition in an area that often neglects the same. Headquartered out of its own LAVA North Facility in Santa Clarita, LAVA North fields fourteen teams annually across the seven distinct age groups of the SCVA. The Division Director for LAVA North is Kristin Dolan with Mary Keen as Division Manager. LAVA Director of Operations and Founding Member Nabil Mardini also assists with North training and development.
The flourishing program fields quality teams each and every year with top “1’s” teams competing in the Gold Division of the Southern California Volleyball Association Power League for their respective age groups. The North reputation is also growing on a national scale as several North teams competed this past summer at the 2016 Junior National Championships in New Orleans, highlighted by the Lava North 16 Adidas team’s Gold Medal championship run in the 16’s Division. As mentioned above, LAVA North strives to train its athletes to become the best volleyball players they can be — but the program is also committed to training its players to become the best athletes they can be via the renowned LAVA North Strength Training Program.
The LAVA North coaching staff boasts a collection of the finest coaches in the Santa Clarita Valley, including the head varsity girls coaches and multiple assistant coaches from four of the six local high schools—Valencia, Hart, Canyon, and Saugus. But the coaching riches do not end there, as LAVA North also houses the talents of the First Assistant Coaches for both Pierce College Women’s Volleyball and College of the Canyons Women’s Volleyball, plus many excellent others. We invite you to visit our directory of coaches to read more about our excellent staff.
LAVA North features multiple program offerings with options for all ages and skill levels, including non-travel and skills development programs.
