About the Foothill Invitational . . . The Foothill Invitational is a high school indoor girls volleyball summer tournament hosted by the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy and held annually in the Santa Clarita Valley. The tournament was established in 2012 when the City of Santa Clarita teamed up with LAVA to launch a summer girls volleyball tournament that would attract both local teams and teams from outside the area — and that goal has been realized, as over the years teams from Northern California, San Diego, Nevada, and Arizona have attended.
The Foothill Invitational is held in late July each and every summer. With four divisions offered for the coming season — the Varsity Invitational Division for high-level varsity programs, the Varsity Festival Division for small school or rebuilding varsity programs, the Junior Varsity Invitational Division for high-level junior varsity teams, and Junior Varsity Festival Division for additional junior varsity, frosh-soph, or freshmen teams — there is something available for every program (fledgling or full-fledged).
The tournament (which will run two days for all four divisions) will be held at school sites across Santa Clarita, all within minutes of one another to make transportation easy. Hotel packages are available at affordable rates, with dining and activity discounts also offered to ease the burden on both (1) high school program budgets and (2) the wallets of player parents and families. The event is more than just a volleyball tournament; make it a weekend with your players and families! Santa Clarita is home to Six Flags Magic Mountain (a premier roller coaster theme park), Hurricane Harbor Water Park, six professional golf courses, and Mountasia Family Fun Center, not to mention just 30 minutes from Universal Studios and other southland attractions. We hope to see you with us this coming summer!
